1/30 The George Inn

Public house. C17 timber-framed building refronted twice, the present front
being timber-framed, with a filling of banded brick and flint: tile roof
replacing former thatch. 1 storey and attic, wide range of 4 windows.
The roof is ?-hipped at each end, with curving eaves above the upper windows.
The cill level of the upper windows has a projecting band (of the C18 cladding)
above a tiled weathering to the new outface, which comprises an exposed box
frame (of old timber). Casements. Rustic timber porch with a segmental
tiled roof. The east side has an open timber-framed well house, containing
part of the winding gear. The rear and west gable has original exposed
framing, bricknogged.
