immediately east of
5.12.55 Marwell Manor House

GV II

Barn, converted to dwelling. C16, converted 1983. Timber-frame with walls of flint
and square dressed stone and stone and brick dressings, old plain tile roof. 5 bay
aisled barn with hipped central midstrey porches. In front, to right C20 single storey
addition of flint with brick dressings and hipped roof, and rear service wing of
Marwell Manor Farmhouse is attached to right end. Other side of barn altered during
conversion. Roof half-hipped at left. Inside queen post roof with straight braces
to tie bean and aisleplate and curved windbraces each side of principle rafters,
continuous purlins, aisle ties from posts to top of walls and posts on remaining
length of base plate on pads of various ages.
