House. C15, altered C17, restored and extended mid-C20. Timber-framed,
rendered infill, thatched roof, large external sandstone chimney at
east gable end with detached, star-shaped brick stack and bread oven.
Former cruck hall house, one bay of which survives, together with additional
Cl7 framed bay at east end; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing:
full cruck visible in west gable end; two/three irregularly sized panels
from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in east gable end with tie-
beam truss above. South elevation: has three 2-light ground floor casements
and two eyebrow dormers with 2-light casements; west gable end has a 2-light
casement and an attic light. A C20 thatched two-storey extension adjoins
the north elevation of the cruck-framed bay, the west side forming the
present entrance elevation. Interior: the other pair of cruck blades intact;
to rear of south blade is a winder staircase.
