11/16 High House Farmhouse



Farmhouse. C17 with mid-C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-frame with brick
infill on sandstone plinth, brick extension, tile roof. Two plus one framed
bays aligned east/west, that to west a late C17 addition, enclosing the former
gable-end exterior stack; rear brick wing a C19 addition incorporating a
granary reached by external steps. North front: one storey with attic lit
by four gabled dormers; three windows: 3-light C20 casements, entrance to left
hand side of central bay with glazed door. Framing: four square panels high
with solid angle braces to earlier part, later bay three square panels high;
east gable: three struts to collar, V-struts in apex; west gable: two collars
with multiple struts.
