House in landscaped park, now offices. Mid-C18, partly rebuilt in
1886-8 after a fire with further mid-C20 alterations. Brick, part
ashlar-faced, with ashlar dressings; plain tiled hipped roofs with
groups of large, mainly star-shaped ridge stacks. U-plan; the north
elevation is recorded as being the only surviving C18 part; the south
range with its projecting wings is late C19. Two storeys and cellar;
chamfered plinth; partly with moulded eaves cornice and blocking course,
partly with dentilled eaves cornice. South entrance elevation: 2:6:2
bays; quoin strips to projecting wings; windows have moulded stone
architraves and are all plain sashes. Entrance doors in two central
bays; left one has inserted plain sash; right one has apanelled door
and large transom light. Windows in side elevation have gauged flat
heads and ashlar keyblocks and sills. North elevation: 6:1:6 bays;
central bay occupied by full-height semi-circular bay window projection;
giant pilasters at ends and main bay divisions; plain sash windows except
second bay which has a 4-panelled door and a square light above and ground
floor of twelfth and thirteenth bays which are blind; three large plain
sashes in central bay. Interior: mainly C19. Hall to rear centre has
semi-circular-headed arcading around two sides on both floors; also
large elaborately carved chimneypiece and open well staircase with turned
balusters and moulded handrail. Ornately moulded ceilings throughout.
Good marble fireplace and also a panelled timber fireplace to west of
