SO 4461 KINGSLAND CP LONGFORD (north side)

13/38 Old House



House. C17, restored mid-C20. Timber-frame with painted brick and rendered
infill, tile roof. T-plan, cross-wing aligned north/south, other range to
east. Internal stack to south-east corner of subsidiary range with brick
shaft. South front of two storeys, gabled cross-wing projecting to left.
C20 fenestration of three plus two windows, to the left two single-light
casements flank a 3-light casement, to right a pair of 2-light casements.
Ground floor has three plus one windows, to left as above, to right a 2-light
casement. Entrance in gable in right has a gabled tiled canopy supported
on plain wooden posts. Framing: four square panels high. Gable of cross-
wing has a jettied tie on scroll brackets, the truss has three struts to
collar with V-struts in the apex and trenched purlins. Interior has exposed
beams, chamfered and stopped, and some exposed wall-framing on first floor
with straight angle braces. (RCHM, 3, p 84, no 21).
