House divided into two dwellings. Cl7 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations.
Timber-framed with rendered infill, some weatherboarding and plain tiled
roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall part of two framed bays aligned
roughly north/south; chimney in north bay with three star-shaped stacks;
cross-wing of two framed bays at north gable end with external C19 chimney
at east gable end and framed single-bay wing adjoining to south-east. Two
storeys. Framing: four panels from sill to wall-plate; collar and tie-beam
trusses with two collars, four struts to lower and two to upper collar,
concave V-strut in apex; south-east wing has three rows of panels from sill
to wall-plate and collar and tie-beam truss with three struts to collar and
V-strut in apex. West front elevation: hall part has a C20 single-light
casement with plank weatherings and two rectangular lights (one with plank
weathering) on the ground floor; 3-light and 2-light C19 casement on the
first floor; main entrance at rear has a C20 door. Cross-wing gable end
has a C20 ground floor 4-light casement, a 3-light and a 2-light first floor
casement (two with plank weatherings) and a C19 ledged and battened door
with lean-to tiled canopy on shaped brackets. Interior not inspected, but
likely to be of interest.
