Church. C13, nave rebuilt C15, N aisle added and tower rebuilt
1662; organ chamber, vestry and SE choir aisle added 1867-70.
Further renovations and alterations 1910-11 by C J Blomfield,
roofs renewed 1952. Flint with stone dressings, machine tile
roof. Crenellated tower with octagonal stair turret. Gargoyles
and clock. Window tracery is mostly perpendicular style;
geometric style on N aisle. Twin gable SE aisle. 6-bay nave has
octagonal piers and plain chamfered arches. Choir with C14
double piscina with pointed trefoil heads under ogee arches. C15
wooden traceried screen between chancel and N chapel. Monument
to Edward Young, Rector of Welwyn 1730-1765. (Pevsner (1977) ).
