4/28 South barn and shelter
shed at Cutting Hill Farm
(lOm to S of house)


Barn with shelter shed attached. C16 barn, altered in C18. C19
shelter shed. Timber framed, dark weatherboarded with slated
roofs, steeper on barn. Originally a 5-bay barn facing W with
gabled central porch, but N end bay removed and further bay added
at S. Jowled posts in low side-walls and side-purlin roof with
collar and inclined-queen-post trusses. Edge-halved bladed scarf
joint in wallplate. 5-bay shelter-shed attached to SW corner of
barn, facing N. Open front on posts. Queen-strut, clasped
purlin roof.
