House. Mid C19. Red brick, slate mansard roof. An oddly designed estate
structure of 1½ storeys with lower slopes of mansard roof extending out
all round to form a wide verandah supported on plain heavy square posts.
Very large central red brick chimney with 6 large circular shafts with
prominent caps. Dormer windows set in upper part of roof to E and W.
Casement windows, but only symmetrical facade on N now facing a garage
but formerly facing a larger building to N now demolished. Called
Hopground Cottage locally.
