11/21 Queen's Head P.H.



Public House. Late C17 or early C18 on left; C18 on right.
Rear addition of late C18 or early C19. Timber frame. Painted
brick casing. Plastered right gable end. Plain tile roof in 2
parts, the left part lower and slightly steeper. 2 storeys. The
front has 3 C20 glazing bar casements. Large C19 canted bay
window to left ground floor. Internally the left side has 1 bay
with chamfer-stopped beams and rebuilt inglenook containing 1763
dated brick. Rear projection has separate plain tile roof and a
dentilled brick eaves. Canted front bay said to have been used
for the collection of coal tax.
