3/443 Walled garden and Doric
portal at Lamer House


Walled garden and gateway. C16 rectangular walled garden,
extended at SE side in C18 to form L-shape enclosure. Early C17
(or possibly C16) portal from the front of Lamer House inserted
on S side of garden extension in early C20. Red brick walling,
that of early part about 3 metres high. Portal is limestone.
Single round arch with keystone and moulded architrave. Single
detached Doric columns with fluted shafts. Projecting
entablature blocks above. Frieze with triglyphs and paterae.
Restored cornice. Badly weathered.
