Late C18, remodelled by J E Elwell for use as part of his premises, 1890. Of
three overhanging storeys. Ground floor with shop front with carved mottoes,
bracket figures of mythical beasts and stained glass. 1st floor with 7-light
bay window above a range of heralidic shields carved and tinctured. 2nd floor
with two 3-light windows separated by 1 figure within a niche. 2 similar but
larger figures flank the base of the broad gable which is crowned by an elabo-
rate wrought iron weather vane. Carved staircase by Elwell within. See also
