Description

ROCHESTER HIGH STREET
TQ 7468 SW
9/69 No 98
24.10.50
GV II
Former house, now a shop. Early Cl7, possibly incorporating
earlier work. Timber framed, with rebuilt brick wall to right
return. Kent-tile gable-end roof. Originally a 2-unit plan set
end-on to the street, the attic extended by means of a small wing
running parallel to the street; large rear stack. Front: single-
window range, plastered. 3-light casement window to gable wall,
16-pane hornless sash in revealed frame to 1st floor. C19 shop
front with external shutters. Interior: lateral winder stair.
The framing appears to survive largely intact.
