5/5 Eastern Railway Bridge over the
7.11.1983 River Lune at Crook of Lune
Former railway bridge, c.1880 for Midland Railway. Piers and abutments of
rock-faced sandstone blocks, with iron arches and with timber beams supporting
the deck. 5 segmental iron arches with iron roundels in spandrels. Piers of
rectangular section, rounded at base. Parapet of iron latticework. Part of
this bridge is in Halton-with-Aughton C.P. (q.v.).
