II*

Primary school. 1950 by Erno Goldfinger. Precast reinforced
concrete frame with brick infill. Shallow mono-pitched roofs.
Single storey with taller assembly hall, which is fully
glazed. Concrete frame with its piers tapering towards the
base, is expressed externally. Large brick tower of 'H' plan
next to the entrance. Fine, top-lit mural in entrance hall by
Gordon Cullen. One of only two schools designed using
Goldfinger's school building system.
