Tall mid C19 villa of 3 storeys and basement, 3 windows. Stucco with incised
lines; fairly low pitched hipped slate roof. Sash windows, some with margin
lights, in chamfered reveals. Ground floor windows, including those in projecting
canted bays on the returns, are casements with transoms; fancy glazing on left
return. Five steps, with pierced side walls, to projecting porch whose parapet
rises to a central peak. Tudor arched entrance. The birthplace of Field Marshal
Lord Montgomery.
