Terrace house. c1710-53. Painted brick, slate roof. 4 storeys
and basement. 3 windows wide. Off centre doorway flanked by
wooden engaged Doric columns, broken entablature with open pediment,
6 panel door and semicircular radial glazed fanlight. Revealed sash
windows, some retaining glazing bars, under flat gauged arches, the
centre window blind on 2nd floor. Bracketed cornice over 2nd floor,
parapet with coping. Cast iron area railings with flambé torch
finials. Interior retains fully panelled ground floor front room with
enriched cornice and plainer panelling to 2nd floor rooms; cut
string staircase with slender turned balusters swept to columnar
newels, the bottom flight turned through 90° at foot when more
spacious hall was formed in the 1920s.
