Former Holkham Estate farmhouse. Late C18 with earlier core. Limewashed
brick with pantile roof. 2 storeys and 7 bay facade. Central raised and
fielded front door with traceried semicircular fanlight and flat hood on ornate
wrought iron brackets in Holkham Estate style. Pair of flanking full height
segmental bays with 6-light mullion and transoms windows and curved glazing.
Other windows of 4-light mullion and transom type. Dentil cornice and raised
stucco ashlaring around windows. Outshut to rear beneath catslide roof.
Initials T.C. (Thomas Coke of Holkham Hall) formed by tie-ends. Surrounded
by moat and believed to be the site of a medieval hospice.
