The Old Fire Station
TF 9129 NE 1/127


Dated 1911. Red brick with moulded brick and terracotta dressings. Slate roof
with crested ridge tiles and gabled ends, and wide eaves. Egg and dart moulded
cornice; one storey. Two side segmental arched doorways with folding doors,
the arches have scalloped bricks and keyblocks. Flanking the doorways on each
side is a moulded terracotta panel containing a swag and date above. Inscription
"Fire Station" at centre. Over the centre a fleche or bellcote.
