Walls to garden and moat north west of Mannington Hall, rising from the north
and west revetement of moat, C17 and later. Brick, lower part in Flemish bond,
upper part renewed late C19 with embattled top with arrowslits; slanting
buttress to north west corner on moat side; pilasters and moulded string course
to north wall. Lead cistern, dated 1689, in north west corner. Gazebo
attached to south end of wall and jutting into moat. C16/17. Brick with dentil
cornice; hipped roof of C19 plain tiles with prow finials to short roof ridge.
Rectangular. One storey. Central door to south under pointed chamfered brick
arch with stone keystone and between flanking brick pilaster strips. 2-light
brick mullioned window to west over moat. Arch in wall to north west of Hall.
Late C16, stone. 4-centred arch with heraldic arms in spandrels. Reeded
pilasters to sides with Ionic capitals under classical entablature. Above in
stone the Walpole crest: bust of a man ducally crowned with pointed cap falling
forwards. Bridge across moat to north, largely C19 but with earlier base.
Brick, with moulded string course and embattled parapets.
