Ivy Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C18, refaced late C18. Brick and flint with roof of black
glazed pantiles. South facade of 2 storeys in 5 irregular bays, so placed
as to maintain syncopated symmetry. 2 symmetrically placed half glazed doors
each with 2 arched lights. Doorcases of half columns terminating in block
capitals and flat hoods. 3 3-light ground floor arched Gothick windows with
leaded lights. 3 similar first floor windows, all under segmental arches.
Above doors are window spaces, blocked to right and with 2-light casement
to left. Wall surface mixture of flint, brick work and chequered brick work.
Panelled eaves cornice in raised parapet. Bell-based gabled roof. Internal
west gable end stack and partly external east gable end stack. Further C20
ridge stack right of centre. Gable head with tumbling.
