3/13 Cedar House.
II
Former rectory house. Mid-C19. Red brick with diaper work. Slate roofs with
crested ridges. Two storeys and attics with one and two storey service wings;
irregular plan in free Gothic style. Main block 2½ storeys, T-shaped with
projecting gabled cross-wing. Mullion and transom casement windows of 1, 2
and 3-lights in square headed openings with brick label moulds. Brick string
course at first floor level. Two gabled attic dormers. Entrance front has
projecting gabled porch with polygonal angle piers with moulded terra-cotta
finials. Parapeted gables with roll-moulded copings; apex finials on north
and south gables. Chimney stacks with ornate terra-cotta shafts and octagonal
tops. Square wooden bell-cote astride ridge of rear wing with gabled canopy
and weather-vane. Lower service range to north.
