3/88 Folly ruin approx 60
yards south-west of
Capheaton Hall


Folly ruin of a chapel. Mid C18, possibly by Capability Brown who designed the
gardens at that time. Random rubble with ashlar dressings. Only the east and
north walls were built. The east wall stands to gable height and has a large
pointed-arched window; foliated cross finial.

The north wall has a fanciful Tudor-style doorway.
