14/185 East Lodge


Former lodge, now house. c.1850. Dressed stone with ashlar dressings, wood,
tile roof and brick chimneys. Single storey with dormers, 3 bays. Central
boarded door and 2-light mullioned windows in double-chamfered surrounds with
hoodmoulds. Very high hipped roof with broad overhanging eaves, forming veranda
round 3 sides of house, supported on un-dressed tree trunks. 2 gabled dormers
with 2-light mullioned windows and elaborate Gothic bargeboards. Tall central
ridge stack with modillion cornice.
