14/155 Orchard Cottage


Small house. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble with wooden lintels; thatch
and plain-tile roofs with ashlar and rendered gable stacks. 2-unit plan with
service wing. 2 storeys. Entrance front, at right angles to road, has a central
4-panel door, a 2-light window to right, and a small canted bay to left; above
the door is a small lattice window. Lower tiled service bay to left has C20
fenestration. Rear of main range has 3 first-floor casements, one of 3 lattice
lights, and has a 5-light canted bay window on an ashlar base with a
stone-slated roof. Left gable of main roof has a double-shafted ashlar stack
with plinth and moulded cap. Interior not inspected.
