Statue. c.1743, by Scheemakers. Depicts Dying Gaul leaning on dexter arm and
with shield and dagger carved on vermiculated base set on ashlar pedestal with
moulded cornice. Part of the landscape gardens laid out by William Kent,
c.1733-40.
