1/282 The Carpenters Arms Public
House, now public house. Mid/late C17. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled thatch
roof; C19 and C20 brick end stacks. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys; 2-window range.
Timber lintels over central C20 door and C20 casements with glazing bars; late
C19 square bay window with stone slate roof to left. C17 range to left of
similar materials with brick end stack and mid C19 brick and Welsh slate
traphouse to front. Mid C19 two-storey bay to right, of limestone rubble with
brick dressings and Welsh slate roof. Interior: chamfered beams. Open fireplace
with stop-chamfered bressumer to left of main range. First floor not inspected
but likely to be of interest. Known as the Fleur de Luce inn in the C18.
