Farmhouse, now house. Probably mid-C18 with later additions and altera-
tions. Painted uncoursed limestone rubble with stone angle quoins;
plain tile roof has integral end stacks with painted brick shafts. 2
storeys and gable-lit attic with semi-cellar to left; moulded eaves
cornice. 3-window front; early C19 leaded casements in segmental-headed
stone surrounds. Central entrance; flat-roofed porch has fixed-light
window to front and doorway to right. C20 glazed inner door. Interior:
right ground-floor room has chamfered spine beam and large stone fireplace
with pilastered surround. Single-purlin roof in 3 bays with wide central
bay and 2 upper cruck trusses resting on tie beams. These are probably
contemporary with the construction of the house rather than reused from
an earlier building. Alcock (1981), p. 145.
