Cow house. C18 with later addition. Thinly coursed yellow/grey sandstone
rubble with weatherboarded timber framed addition; corrugated iron
roof. One storey and loft. 2 raking eaves dormers to front with
boarded doors. 3 boarded doors, outer pair each with 2 leaves. Small
boarded opening in later addition to left. 3 opposed doors at rear.
Interior: tie-beam trusses with raking struts; single purlins. A
complete-example of a 3-door cowhouse; cattle were housed in 2 rows
facing each other, the central door led to a feed passage and the
outer doors were for mucking out. The cow house forms part of a complete
farmstead group with the farmhouse (The Maltsters Tap q.v.) and barn
(q.v.). Included for group value.,
