Toll house, now cottage. Probably late C18 or early C19 with C20 addition.
Uncoursed and roughly coursed red sandstone rubble; conical slate roof
with deep eaves and red brick stack to centre. Circular plan. 2 storeys.
Late C19 casements all round in plain stone surrounds, several blind,
those to first floor directly below eaves. South-west window in position
of infilled doorway. Present entrance to east through C20 half-glazed
porch. C20 flat-roofed addition to north is not of special architectural
interest. Also known locally as The Round House.
