Milking Parlour 10 metres south-west of Lower Cockhill Farmhouse

Milking parlour. Circa 1400. Cary stone roughly cut and squared; corrugated iron roof. Single storey, with inserted
floor at north end; 4 bays. On road front 2 blocked windows openings and a blocked doorway, the latter having heavy
frame with part-shouldered posts for large - presumably a pair - doors; south end of rendered block construction with
timber weatherboard cladding to gable. Inside, smooth-curved open cruck trusses; saddle apex with square set ridge,
tenoned cambered collars, trenched purlins, empty mortices suggesting former windbraces.
