Pair of cottages in row. C19 reshaping of older properties. Local lias stone cut and squared; clay double Roman tiled
roof, simple gables; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys: Melstock of one bay, Claysgarth 3 bays. Small pane casement
windows of 2 lights under timber lintols; boarded entrance to right of bay 1 of Melstock, and to centre bay of
Claysgarth. Indications of several blocked openings in the front walls of both houses. Interiors not seen.
