BETLEY C.P. MAIN STREET (west side)
10/36 Black Horse Inn
Inn. Early C19. Roughcast brick; plain tile roof; brick integral
end stacks and ridge stack. 2 storeys with dentilled eaves band.
4 windows: C19 cross casements with straight hood moulds; tripartite
glazing bar sash window to ground floor left. Central half-glazed door
with corniced panel above. Attached to the right is a low wing, possibly.
a cottage originally: brick, painted in imitation of timber framing;
plain tile roof; brick integral end stack. One storey and attic.
2 window front: casements with segmental heads to ground floor, and
gabled attic dormers. Central boarded door with flat hood on shaped
brackets. Attached to the left of the main building is a single-storey
wing with 2 large C20 windows and a central C20 door. Painted in imitation
of timber framing. Included for group value.
