Stables, cowhouse, sheds and storage-lofts. Early to mid-C19 with later
alterations. Red brick and hipped tiled roofs. Forms a U-plan layout
around a yard, open to the north, but restricted by the farmhouse (q.v.)
attached to that end. Entered on the east side through a 2-storey
storage building of 2 windows. The segmental-headed central cart arch
is flanked by doors; attached to the left is a cowhouse with loft over,
of 3 top-hung casement windows to the ground floor and door to right of
centre; attached to the right is a lower range of 3 stables and an
attached similar but lower block makes up the south side of the quadrangle.
A further 2-storey range is situated in the south-west corner, run into
implement sheds which are attached to the farmhouse (q.v.) by a link of
one bay with lower ridge height than the adjacent block. The farm complex
forms a complete unit of the type used by the Duchy of Lancaster in the
