TM 17 SW
- The Cottage


House, c.1600, altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Steeply pitched
pantiled roof. 2 cells, 3 bays. 1 storey and attic. Right bay has small 2-
light casements, ground floor glazing bars and hoodboard, to left a ground
floor larger C20 casement. Central ridge stack, rebuilt capping. Left end 3-
light glazing bar attic casement with hoodboard, exposed purlins, entrance in
C20 open gabled porch towards rear. Right end 2-light attic casement. To
rear a low C20 addition with gable to rear. Interior: ground floor stop
chamfered cross axial binding beam, first floor cranked braces in walling at
right end, opposed base cruck blades to raised tie beam to left of centre,
collars clasp purlins.
