TL 96 SE TOSTOCK THE GREEN

Two houses built as one. Crossings: early or mid C17. One storey and attics.
2 windows. Timber-framed and plastered: raised panels roughcast in the
C17/C18 manner. Thatched roof with two C20 eyebrow casement dormers. An
axial C17 chimney of red brick, the upper shaft rebuilt in C18/C19. Mid C20
casements. Mid C20 boarded and battened door at cross-entry position.
Crossings comprises the hall and service cells: a narrow single-storey service
wing at the rear was added in later C17 or early C18. Unmoulded framing of
C17 type: 1st floor joists laid flat, clasped purlin roof. The adjoining.
house comprises the parlour block, rebuilt in C18: 2 storeys. 2 windows.
Timber-framed and plastered. Concrete plaintiled roof. Early C20 casements
with small panes. C19 entrance doorway: mid C20 replacement 6-panelled door.
