The Green
10/239 Carpoles Cottages

House, now divided. Late C16/C17. Timber framed with brick infill, one panel
of whitewashed render below, tile hung above to left with the lower courses
cast out over the ground floor on braces. First floor gable to right (north)
brick infilled. Plain tiled roofs. T-shaped plan with cross wing to right.
Rear stack at junction of two ranges, detached offset stack to right end. Two
storeys; three leaded casements to first floor left, one on first floor of
gable. Two windows to ground floor left, one on ground floor of gable. Part
glazed door to left of centre and to left in gable. Former door case survives,
now brick infilled, to lobby entry. Pentice to left and across rear.
