House, now 4 dwellings. C15 or early C16 open hall house added to and altered.
Part timber-framed with painted brick infill, part painted brick in Flemish
bond. Plain tile roof. Probably 3-bay hall house, with timber-framed bay added
to rear left, probably C18 or earlier, and brick bay added to right early C19.
2 storeys, 4 bays. Timber frame exposed in bay 3, mostly on 1st floor,
comprising medium-sized square panels and wall posts arch-braced to wall plate.
Each cottage has on ground floor a board door (that to right bay brick-arched)
and C20 3-light small-pane window, and on 1st floor a small 2-light window.
Roof hipped, having lower ridge over bay 2 and gablet at right end. Stacks at
right end,external; right end of bay 3, forward of ridge; and between bays 1 and
2. Rear: timber-framing of 2 central bays comprises large panels on 1st floor
at centre, and arched braces on left; added late C20 wing not of special
interest; right-hand bay timber-framed extension has 2-light diamond-leaded
window on 1st floor. Left return: the timber-framed extension has brick to
ground floor, and on 1st floor framing comprises unjowled posts, mid-rail and
arched braces. Interior not inspected.
