RIPE Starr's Barn
the entry shall be amended to read;
TQ 5010 RIPE Starr's Barn
Barn. C17 with some C18 alterations. The remaining 3 bays of 9 bay barn severely damaged
in the hurricane of 1987. Timberframed barn on deep brick and flint plinth, clad with
weatherboarding. Steeply pitched roof covered with corrugated asbestos sheeting. C18 gabled
midstrey to north. Aisled on both sides with C18 end aisle. Jowled posts with curved braces to
tie beams and aisle beams. Angled queenstruts and two tiers of purlins. Rafters without

Barn. C17. Timber framed and weatherboarded with corrugated asbestos hipped roof.
Gabled mid-stray to north. Interior: 9 bays, aisled on both sides with end aisle
(this later). Jotwled posts with curved braces to tie beams and aisle beams. Double
purlin roof with queen trusses.
