of Tanners Manor House
TQ 51 NE 7/901

2. Oast House, C18 with oast itself C19 altered later C19. Red brick on rough
stone plinth with blue headers to the oast. Plain tile roofs. L-shaped building
pierced by few windows, mostly heavily framed in wood and broader than they are
tall. Cambered-headed doorway at first floor on north-east side. The adjacent
re-entrant wall is weatherboarded above and open below. The oast, of more carefully
laid brickwork, is surmounted by a pyramidal tile roof of square plan with steeply-
roofed louvre, the whole carried on diagonal braces and dragon beams. Inside the
northern portion has sling braces and clasped purlins, the southern portion has

the stable (q.v.) both visible from Tanners Manor House. (q.v.)
