House, now shops and flat. C17, with late C17/early C18 front. Timber framed
with lath and plaster infill. Front of colourwashed brick with brick string
course and deep plaster eaves cove. Late C20 tile roof; brick internal stacks to
rear. U-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. On right mid/late C19 double
shop front has late C20 glazed door, and bays with glazing bars. Central plank
door to through passage, with simple moulded wood frame. To left half-glazed
door in simple moulded wood surround, and C19 canted bay. First floor has on
left 2 cross windows with glazing bars and gauged brick flat arches. On right
16-pane sash and canted bay with casements and glazing bars. Attic has 4 late
C19/C20 brick casement dormers. Through passage has exposed framing. To rear:
Wing of 2 ranges, with 2 framed gables and walls largely rebuilt in brick. Short
roughcast wing. Interior: Exposed framing and ceiling beams. Noted as having C18
straight flight staircase with turned balusters. To rear linked tall C17 timber
framed outbuilding with jowled posts and brick infill, underbuilt in brick, with
tile roof. C18 or early C19 lias one storey and attic range attached.
