House and attached building, possibly originally part of a workhouse. Early/mid
C19. Flemish bond brick with string course and dentil cornice. Old plain-tile
roof; rebuilt right end stack. T-plan, with wing and attached building to rear.
2 storeys; 3-window range. Symmetrical front has flush 6-panelled door, formerly
part-glazed, with stone flat arch and keystone. 2-light iron casements have
patterned glazing and brick flat arches. Rear range has 2 altered windows on
ground floor on the right, with C20 casement above. Remainder of building has 3
round-arched iron windows and blocked door on first floor; ground floor obscured
by additions. The house and building are probably all that remains of the
Nuneaton Poor Law Institution. Interiors not inspected.
