Pencil Cottage
GV II

House and shop. c1820 Cottage ornee altered and extended in
C20. Coursed Isle of Wight stone with wooden bargeboards and
thatched roof with brick chimney. 1 storey and attics, 2
windows. Large projecting left-hand gable with fretted
bargeboards and 1st floor oriel on brackets. Underneath is
canted bay with Gothick-headed lights. Casement in eyebrow
dormer to right and C20 built out stone porch below with plain
doorcase and rectangular fanlight. Left side elevation has
gable with oriel and ground floor mid Cl9 5-light bay. 4
yellow brick clustered chimneystacks set diagonally. C20
extension to east, not of special interest.
