4/247 Old Smithy Cottage


Pair of cottages in row, now house. C17 and later. Timber
framed with flint and brick external walls, and thatched roof. 1-
storey and attic. 4 bays. Originally 2 bays in flintwork with
left gable stack, extended right by 1 bay in brick laced flint with
gable stack, and to left by further bay with stack. C20 loggia at
left end. C20 door and windows to ground floor, 4-pane casements
with glazed sidelights to swept dormers. Thatch half hipped both
ends. Brick stacks. C20 rear service room.
