6/128 Cross Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house, gable to street. Late C16-C17. Timber
framed with whitewashed brick noggings. Thatched roof. Single
storey and attic and part 2 storeys, 2 bays. Left bay of 2 storeys
contains main living room, and entrance in lower bay to right.
Four and 3 panels high independently framed, the left bay with
narrow framing and straight corner braces, the lower, probably
earlier, bay with ogee braces. Shelter boards over horizontal
timber of gable. Boarded door and timber 2-light casement windows.
Thatch half hipped over gables and swept down over narrow outshut
to rear. Brick stack on inner side of upper bay. Dormer and
second brick stack to rear.
Interior has rebuilt fireplace in upper bay and chamfered cross
beam.
