4/233 Rooks Nest Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, late C17 with C19 additions, rubble stone with slate
roofs, coped gables with end wall stacks and coped centre division
to ridge stack. 2-storeys. South front: 3 coped dormer gables
with 3-light recessed mullion windows, ovolo-moulded to centre and
chamfered to outer pair. Small pane windows with sash opening
lights. Ground floor has c19 12-pane sashes in plain surrounds,
one with hoodmould to left and one each side of 4-panel door in
cyma-moulded doorcase set in C19 ashlar gabled porch. To right
side, ovolo-moulded single light with hoodmould. Rear lean-to with
3-light ovolo-moulded window above. At east end 2-storey Cl9
addition with east end stack, and further 2-storey range at rear of
west end with north end stack, this addition incorporating older
walling.
