C16 with later additions and alterations. Entirely renewed 2 storey timber
framed front to Castle Street. Steep pitch gable end old tile roof. 6 lattice
casements on first floor some gabled as semi-dormers. Yard entrance and irregular
similar casements and doors on ground floor. Some original timber work inside.
The east elevation of this bloc to the yard does retain original jettied first
floor gable with exposed framing. Fenestration altered on this side and covered
bridge at first floor level providing link with block on east side of yard.
This is also Cl6, timber framed, but has an early to mid C18 stuccoed front.
3 storeys and attic, deep coved cornice, hipped old tile roof. 3 hipped roof
dormers. Irregular flush framed sash windows most with glazing bars. Central
modern double doors on ground floor between 2 small canted bay windows. Interior
has a late C17 oak staircase with turned balusters and moulded handrail.
South side of yard largely rebuilt but narrow 3 storey elevation to the Market
Place, Blue Boar Row qv. Tile hung upper part flat eaves, paired brackets.
One window second floor. Canted bay window, sash lights no glazing bars,
cornice and panelled apron. Yard entrance on ground floor.

No 2, The Chough Hotel, No 6 and Lloyds Bank form a group.
