Probably former millowner's house, c1840. Slobbered rubble brought to course,
stone dressings, stone slate roof. Central staircase plan. 3 storeys, 3
bays. Entrance right of centre has moulded surround, hood on brackets, 6 panel
door, rectangular fanlight. Left-hand entrance has plain surround, 6 panel
door. 3 windows per storey, all plain surrounds, sashes; those to second floor
have 9 panes. First floor cill band. Chamfered quoins. Paired eaves modillions.
Right-hand gable end and left of centre stacks. Rear-staircase window rises
full height of house, 60 pane sash and fixed light. Interior: dog-leg stairs,
open string, stick balusters and ramped and wreathed handrail. Six panel doors
with fluted architraves and paterae.
