ST 55 NE EAST HARPTREE COLEY

5/36 Manor Farmhouse

House. Circa 1700. Coursed rubble,dressed stone quoins and copings, plain tile
roof to garden front, double Roman tile roof to rear. L shaped plan with
staircase tower in angle of 2 wings. Garden front of 2 storeys, 5 windows. All
windows are C19 casements in original openings. Central doorway with flat hood
on carved brackets. Lower section of door has raised and fielded panels, upper
section has C19 small pane glazing. 1st floor flush string course, dressed stone
eaves cornice, end brick stacks. Interior. Ground floor right hand room has
early C18 decoration and fittings: compartmented ceiling with deeply projecting,
complexly moulded plaster ribs, raised and fielded panel shutters, chair rail and
buffet niche with original shelving and 2-leaf C19 glazed doors.
